What is a web quest?

A web quest is like a journey that tells you the answer to a question. We’ve set an easy question about each book to get you going.

You will find the answer on the first website you visit. But don’t stop there. Visit the other sites in the quest to read, watch and hear items which tell you more about the theme of the book.

When you click to check your answer, you will find more fun sites to visit.

The web quests may use audio or video. If you need to listen to something, please use headphones if you are in a public place. Do not disturb other people.

If you need any help, please ask a tutor or a member of library staff. You may also like to look at www.bbc.co.uk/webwise if you would like to practise your computer skills.

Steps to do a web quest
1. Read the question and look at the web links to find an answer.
2. Look at the answer and some more websites to explore.
3. Use the Notepad at the end of your quest to jot down some thoughts. You can fill it in online and then print it off. Or you can print the blank page and then write in the boxes.

Choose a web quest
Click on a book cover or on the name of a book to start your quest. When you’ve finished, you can come back to try another one. Good luck!
